Cleaning temporary files (TEMP) directory

Hi, I think there's a problem with cleaning moved Temp directory. Usually it's located at "c:\windows\temp" (talking about XP SP2 now) but when moved let's say to "t:\temp" (T is a FAT32 partition dedicated for temporary mess) by changing corresponding path in system variables, CCleaner doesn't seem to clean it.

Also I've been encoutering some reported/cleaned files ratio difference. Sometimes CCleaner reports 10 files for some directory but then says only 3 of them were deleted. What's the problem?

Thanks!

I do not believe XP SP2 is supported.

You need SP3

Did you change all four variables,

i.e. both %TEMP% and also %TMP% in both the User and the System groups of variables ?

I have made the same changes that you made and CCleaner is cleaning my chosen E:\TEMP destination.

My system differs in that :-

I have Windows 7 up to date with SP1 ; and

E:\TEMP is NTFS, not FAT32.

Is your system C:\ also FAT32 ?

Please everyone ignore my question about TEMP not working - WORKS FINE !! The error was exactly between chair and keyboard :-D I had the option "Only delete files older than 24 hours" ticked that's why CCleaner didn't find anything.

For Alan_B: Thanks for the answer and no, my C partition is the slow NTFS, only T is the quick and unreliable FAT32.

Thanks

Glad you got it fixed.
