When I click the Cleaner icon, either the whole page shuts down or the cleaning process stalls at 88% and will not continue. What to do?

Which icon are you talking about? The one on the desktop?

Which process is the cleaning stalling on?

Also please say what operating system you are using and which version of ccleaner.

Are all your virus/malware scans up to date and clean?

Any other pc problem at the moment?

i refer to the top icon on the left hand column on the desktop, once I am in CC Cleaner. It is a broom sweep icon.

I am using Windows 7. All my virus / malware scans run daily and are updated daily. No other problems (fingers crossed) at the moment. Many thanks.

I am using the latest version of Cleaner.

It stalls on "Run Cleaner" process - when clicked, the page shuts down.

Once in CC Cleaner, the icon is the little broom sweep Cleaner.

The Version is: 3.16.1666

Thank you, but I have now had a tech guy come in, as there were other linked problems with emails emerge. He diagnosed Google Chrome installation as faulty and removed it. Also uninstaleed and reinstalled CC Cleaner. Working well now. Fingers crossed.
