Hi,
Is there a way of making CCleaner clean up the browser data for Chrome and Firefox with the profile folder is in a custom location exemple: D:\Chrome-profile, rather than %appdata" folder?
Thanks for your help,
This works for both Firefox/mozilla-based and Chrome-based browsers http://www.piriform.com/docs/ccleaner/advanced-usage/ccleaner-ini-files/how-to-clean-user-data-from-non-standard-mozilla-browsers
Thanks Nergal for your help. Now it works.
I think that the Syntax for adding CustomLocation entry in ccleaner.ini should be updated.
In the below link the Syntax is: CustomLocation1 FIREFOX|C:\MagicFox\data
The correct synthaxe should be: CustomLocation1=FIREFOX|C:\MagicFox\data
For Google Chrome or Iron browser it should be : CustomLocation2=CHROME|C:\IronProfile\Default
Are you saying the documentation is wrong?
if so please contact one of the Admins such as MrG
This works for both Firefox/mozilla-based and Chrome-based browsers http://www.piriform....ozilla-browsers
Hi Nergal,
I have followed your instructions, but it doesn't work!
Note 1: In installed CCleaner, there ist no ccleaner.ini (Win7 x64)
Note 2: So I have done the Reg-Mod (changing path to my Firefox-Dir), but Ccleaner doesn't find/clean my Firefox (
What can I do?
Any solution?
Thanks in advance

switch to INI
options>Advanced place a checkmark in save settings to ini file (it's the last setting in advanced)

Thank you! Now I have INI incl. the correct path to FF-Data-folder, but Ccleaner (3.18.1707) doesn't clean FF(12) anymore.
CustomLocation1=FIREFOX|Y:\FirefoxPortable\Data
Set the CustomLocation to CustomLocation1=FIREFOX|Y:\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile
Set the CustomLocation to CustomLocation1=FIREFOX|Y:\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile
Now it works!
Thank you very much!
In using Portable Firefox v26 & Portable CCleaner v4.09.4471 the ccleaner.ini file has the following line at the end:
CustomLocation1=FIREFOX|E:\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile
These above two portable apps are on a USB flash drive which is only used on just one computer and always appears as drive "E". Many, many, many different attempts were made trying different things in the ccleaner.ini file and none work. All the custom entries that were tried were taken out of the ini file when a new attempt was made. Ccleaner.ini was saved each time. Furthermore - the information on the Piriform Docs page does not work either.
One of the problems is that there is nowhere to be found any clear instructions as to exactly which Firefox files need to be cleaned and/or deleted for a regular cleaning since if someone has Firefox installed in the usual place on their primary hard drive CCleaner takes care of it automatically.
It should be added that Ccleaner is also installed in the usual location on the C drive as well and that install does not clean the Firefox Portable either using the same ccleaner.ini file. This regular Ccleaner installation seems to clean everything else properly which is on the C drive including the regular installation of Firefox.
Lastly - modification attempts in winapp2.ini have also proven completely fruitless. The winapp2.ini file was taken out of the Firefox folder when the ccleaner.ini file was tried.
Is there anyone who is able to provide a working solution for this mess, please?
Thank you.
[UPDATE] Found the solution - the following should be added instead of the line above:
CustomLocation1=FIREFOX|E:\PortableApps\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile
/me takes a bow and exits until next year.
[UPDATE] Found the solution - the following should be added instead of the line above:
CustomLocation1=FIREFOX|E:\PortableApps\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile
Like you've discovered it just has to be fed the correct path to your "profile" folder in Firefox Portable regardless of what drive it's on, hard disk, USB thumb drive, etc.
I remember setting this up for the first time too and had issues as well.
[UPDATE] Found the solution - the following should be added instead of the line above:CustomLocation1=FIREFOX|E:\PortableApps\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile
i don't have any problem point it to CustomLocation1=FIREFOX|C:\Users\Asus22\Downloads\Programs\FirefoxPortable\Data\Firefox
i see that you're using winapp2.ini
in order for winapp2.ini to work,you need to change all entries to point to the portable profile location
Hi,
On Chrome x64 I renamed folder Profile 1 to Abigail and kept the same default path and edited all related files and regkeys accordingly:
C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Abigail
Is the following line correct to make CCleaner work?
CustomLocation1=CHROME|C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Abigail
TIA
