Chrome history and tabs wiped out by CCleaner/knocked out wireless

I did not chose to wipe this stuff out but it did it anyway. Everything is gone, been looking for info on line to see if I can get it back. Also knocked out wireless connection, took a few system restore attempts and finally got back online.

Any suggestions on getting tabs and history back. have firefox too, afraid to open it.

Very upset, hope someone can help

In case it helps others, provide your Chrome, Firefox, CCleaner and Windows versions.

But I believe you can't get that info back - CC doesn't back it up or send it to the Recycle Bin, it just gets wiped.

Did you Analyse first before clicking Run Cleaner to determine what would be effected?

Did you run the Registry Cleaner?

Your Internet can be "wiped-out" all on it's own, which is why my ISP recommends rebooting the modem once-per-week for maintenance.

Chrome is Version 43.0.2357.81 m Firefox i don't know, haven't opened it in awhile and am concerned about doing so right now until I know more about what happened. I'm on Windows 7. CC I just downloaded from cnet (free version) last week. version 5.06.
I did analyse first. I didn't realize everything that was checked off at first. But I also didn't just chose run Cleaner either. i did the same thing I did when I first used it last week. I only highlighted one item at a time to clean and then had to run the analysis again each time to bring the list up. Last week I cleared temp files and then one or two other things and then closed it out. As much as I would like to be more educated about these things (just don't have the time to learn indepth), I don't have much more than general usage knowledge about computers. i know to protect, scan, eliminate basic problems. So I'm careful about what I clear.
I had been using something else without problems but my laptop still continues to run very slow so I researched and found CC highly rated and so tried it. This time I did the same thing I did last week. Cleared temp files, then analysed again. Cleared another item. Analysed again. Highlighted another item and then it wiped out everything.
I'm very upset by this so I appreciate the replies

CC I just downloaded from cnet (free version) last week.

I personally wouldn't download anything from CNET, I don't trust them, and they've been known to wrap installers for their own advertising purposes.

I'd recommend in the future only downloading CCleaner from the official website: https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

It may help to view the CCleaner docs: https://www.piriform.com/docs/ccleaner

As a 'newbie' to CC, it looks like you took the cautious approach and ticked one thing at a time.

This is good, because hopefully you remember that last one you ticked that made your Chrome tabs and history disappear - Yes?

That's the one you want to untick the next time you run CC.

But regardless, the sadly fact now is they are gone, and although not 100%, I'm fairly certain they won't be coming back.

Do you have backups or drive images/cloning that may have included the Chrome folders?
