I just got through running Cleaner Professional for Chrome and now Chrome has become disabled on my computer. A window will open but not complete the process, shuts down and then a CC Cleaner pop up shows up saying that my browser is closed. I have done everything to reactivate Chrome but to no avail. I can bet this is a conflict with Cleaner. Anybody?
āCCleaner professional for Chromeā is not a thing as such.
CCleaner is not browser specific- it will clean most browsers as well as other things.
Can you give us more information about what is happening and what you are seeing?
Edit- Do you have Smart Cleaning enabled for Chrome?
I know CCleaner for Chrome is ānot a thingā. Chrome is one of two browsers that I have set to clean so that is why I phrased it that way. I bought it directly through the App on my computer.
Chrome is installed. When I click the icon the supposed Chrome window opens. After about 15-20 seconds when nothing happens except a blank, white screen, the window auto closes, and a popup notification window opens from CCleaner stating that my browser is now closed so I can run the cleaner. This is an issue that has just happened today, never before and Iāve been a subscriber for many years. Iāve rebooted several times even shutting down and unplugging. Not sure how I would determine whether I have smart cleaning enable on Chrome since I canāt open it. Iām having to use Edge here which I dislikeā¦Edit. Is it possible to disable CCleaner and see if Chrome opens?
Thanks for that,
Unfortunately I canāt tell what is causing your Chrome to close as soon as you open it.
It is the Chrome opening and then closing again that is telling CCleaner to give you a notification that it has closed.
All that CCleanerās Smart Cleaning is doing is what it should do (what you have set SC to do) and telling you that Chrome has closed.
You can change the options in CCleaner Smart Cleaning so that it no longer tells you that - but that isnāt going to cure why your Chrome will not open as it should.
In the end your Chrome isnāt opening for some reason and CCleaner is just telling you that it has closed (again).
Longshot but did you run performance optimization in CCleaner. In other words is chrome asleep
I did but I didnāt put it to sleep. I even went as far as to do a system restore to my last restore point and that didnāt solve my issue either. I really donāt want to have to uninstall/reinstall lest I lose all my favorites.
