Chrome 5.0 Released

In addition to this build dumping its beta tag, Google has officially unleashed stable releases for both the Mac and Linux platforms. Chrome v5.0 brings many new enhancements to the table. Flash integration, unfortunately, did not make the cut. However, Google states that once Adobe releases Flash 10.1, they will add it into the browser. This will make the manual installation of Flash a thing of the past. The notable changes in Chrome v5.0 are:

  • * Redesigned Bookmark Manager (pictured below)

    * Geolocation APIs

    * App Cache

    * Web sockets

    * File drag-and-drop

I just tested it, and it is indeed, pretty fast. Noticeable difference over version 4.

Anyway, I have an obsession toward Firefox and will probably never switch.

Just like I'd never switch to Bing over Google.

Is there a real alternative (i.e. that blocks everything ABP blocks) to AdBlock Plus in Chrome ? Or does Google prevent addon devs from doing that ?

...and where is the Bookmark manager picture ? huh.gif

(Offtopic : Bing images is waaaaaay better than Google Images...but I agree the web search is bad)

yeah i don't see the picture

Um, how about AdBlock:

Oh and I don't see a pic in first post either

That just covers the ads after they are already downloaded. ABP in Firefox actually stops them from downloading. There is no way as of yet to do that in Chrome.

Geez, I don't know why the Image isn't displayed.
