Choosing Which Cookies to Keep

I have added the cookies for all the web sites that I want to keep to the Cookies to Keep column as instructed. After a 24 hour period, I visit these web sites and I still have to enter my log in information again.

My browser is IE7 and I have added these same web sites to the Allow List of Web Sites (Internet Options/Privacy/Sites) and I still have this problem.

I assume there is a check box somewhere that I have not checked.

I would appreciate any help. :(

First, upgrade to IE8 - download it here if you use XP or here if you use Vista. That will not only give you a better & more secure web browser, but also help web developers :)

According to CCleaner, the saved forms are deleted if you check the "Autocomplete Form History" checkbox. Are they still deleted if you don't check that box ?

Thanks very much. I upgraded to IE8 and unchecked Auto Complete Form History and it worked.

I have the same problem Windows Vista IE 8 went back to IE7 as I did not like 8 ! My auto complete is not checked. I'm now afraid to run cleaner as its a pain logging in everywhere. Please does anyone know off any other suggestions than the ones above, which are not working for me.

Thanks in advance,

Rita, if those settings in IE7 AutoComplete are not ✔ they will not be saved.

To save them you ✔ in IE7 AutoComplete and uncheck ☐ in CCleaner AutoComplete Form History. Try it.

Yes, a bit confusing. :)

CCLeaner Deleting ALL Cookies And Ignoring Cookies To Keep List.

Hi. I am an experienced CCleaner user from 1.40 on. I find that, if Cookies are checked in Cleaner / Internet Explorer tab, CC 2.30 is deleting all my cookies in IE8. In months past, CC only deleted the cookies selected to delete, and retained those marked Cookies to Keep. Having Autocomplete checked or not checked seems to make no difference. So, now, I need to sign in to websites - they no longer remember my password. For example, NetFlix retains password in cookie: if I run CC, I need to sign in; if not run CC, NetFlix remembers my password. Anyone, any advice ?? Thanks, Bill

 I too still have the same problem, all was fine before the update.

A lot of sites now use Flash Cookies (.sol files) to store log in information, so try unchecking "Adobe Flash Player" in "Applications\Multimedia" and see if that makes a difference.

I would also suggest going back to a version which worked for you to save all the log in hassle, and see if a future version fixes the issue.

There have been so many cookie problems of late I'm slowly losing the will to live. Folk who can't keep cookies, folk who can't get rid of them, folk who's "cookies to delete" doesn't populate, and those who can't clear it.

Browser developers constantly moving the goalposts, etc etc.. It's just crazy, so going back to a previous version that worked until various cookie problems are resolved, seems to make sense to me.

End of rant. :)
