Checking for leftover Java in my system

Hello,

I kept getting a recurring Java EXP virus over the last month. In the end i got peed off with it and decided to uninstall Java, but i do in fact really need it and have decided to give Sandboxie a go and then reinstall Java (any thoughts on securing java welcome).

I have no reason to think Java didnt cleanly uninstall, but is it worth taking a look with CC ? JAVA is not in my control panel anymore.

Just to be clear if i ONLY ''scan for issues'' with the registry cleaner - just to take a look and then close, CCleaner is not doing anything to my registry at all ?

Thanks for any help

Poo

Keep Java up-to-date (as soon/often as possible).

CCleaner & OS version?

You could try JavaRa for cleaning Java leftovers.

More than likely it left something behind as per usual. That JavaRa mentioned by nodles is probably the easiest way to get it completely off your system.

Here's the manual way courtesy of Oracle

Thanks alot. I might just have another little peek in the registry but those squiggles all looked the same to me.

Javra maybe sounds like the way to go for someone like me.

Java makes Mcafee look like Mother Teresa i reckon. Sandboxie looks impressive from what i've been reading. Just need to think whether to use it with chrome or firefox.

Thanks again

JavaRA is definitly the way to go

And JavaRA is currently being developed by one of our members :) (though the 'definitions' for JavaRA are handled by someone else)

I can't recommend JavaRa due to my obvious bias. But I can inform winapp2.ini that I did the JavaRa definitions myself one time. It was like watching beige paint dry In a wet and boring place. Like Ketchikan.
