yep, false positive, ignore.

I've been using CCleaner for years, since the days of it being called "Crap Cleaner". I've NEVER gotten a false positive before. I just attempted to download version 5.30 & BitDefender blocked it stating it was infected by Trojan.GenericKD.5086571. I was forced to reboot to clean the threat. I'm sticking with 5.29 until the next update.

one reason with the new CC v5.30 is that the AV companies haven't updated their digital signatures yet.

it could also just be that things haven't had a chance to propagate.

most of CC's false positives seem to stem from ESET and BitDefender (my guess is it'll be those AV programs that use the BitDefender engine)

my download of v5.30 didn't trigger any issues with Norton's.

Also AV companies like to have installers submitted to them, some will auto-upload without user interaction if configured to do so, and scanning on sites such as VirusTotal will have it submitted to them. Although some brands of AV are more prone to false positives.

today there is on Virust total analysis this

Arcabit Trojan.Generic.D4D9D6B 20170518

Emsisoft Trojan.GenericKD.5086571 ( 20170518

ESET-NOD32 Win32/Bundled.Toolbar.Google.D potentially unsafe 20170518

why they don't update without these false positives? many users can be afraid to install
