CCleaner's Registry fixer - A real fix?

 I wonder, are you really getting anything when you opt for some "free" software? I recently read and discovered, that specifically the registry fixer in CCleaner, might not be really doing as advertised. I'm not putting down CCleaner, but I still have to ask; Why does CCleaner's registry fixer say that my machinee has no registry problems, but RegCure says I have almost 700??!! A dilemma indeed.....

Sometimes less is safer.

I'm sure that if you tried several different reg cleaners that they would all come up with different results.

Some are very aggressive in their reg cleaning whilst some are quite mild, with CCleaner being very mild so as to ensure safety.

Even then some probs may arise hence the need to backup any deletions.

And yes, I get the same results between RegSeeker and CCleaner and I only use RegSeeker manually to delete what I think are dregs.

And most of these 700 entries will be re-created the moment you remove them. Which makes it quite useless to remove them to begin with ;)
