CCleaner WON'T STOP ANALYZING

Hi

Can someone help me to understand why CCleaner takes a long time analysing the system and does not seem to stop.

The progress bar shows it is checking the HD but it takes an incredible long time to do so and I have to manually stop it.

Once I left it on overnight and was still running the day after.

The HD light is blinking showing activity on the disk.

My HD is only 300GB and has never taken so long to analyse/clean the system.

I tried both version 1.54 and 2.0 but it makes no difference. Previously it worked fine.

I checked my HD for errors but it is clean and I also defragged it so I do not know what else to do.

Perhaps try using your web browser(s) own built in cleaners to remove Temporary Internet Files/Cache

Also manually deleting temp folder files has helped some people where the progress bar just keeps going for a long time. You can access your system mapped temp folder by clicking: Start, Run, then type in: %temp%

Thanks for the suggestion

The new version seems to analyze far longer than version 1.X. I run CCleaner daily. Usually it runs through the progress bar once or twice. Now, it goes through several cycles each time. I'd say it takes 2-3 times as long as version 1.X. Odd, since it was supposedly entirely rewtitten and optimized. I ran it on my daughter laptop that had never been cleaned. I just let it run. It must have taken 20 minutes.

well you can say CC 2.X has a deeper scan ? :S ..

I don't know what it is scanning that 1.41.544 isn't, but it's just way too slow for everyday cleanup. I had to revert to 1.41.544. Sorry, 2.X is just too slow.
