CCleaner won't scan beyond 20%

I wondering whether someone can help with a problem I've had for a few weeks now..

Whenever I run CCleaner, the scan gets to 20% and it doesn't get any further no matter how long I leave it.

It doesn't stick on any particular file but it is scanning Temporary Files.

I have no idea if this has anything to do with it or not, but my antivirus picks up lots of threats in this location as well.

I'd really appreciate any advice.

If your antivirus is picking up things as well it may be an idea to get things checked out, see item 10 listed here

And perhaps to just get that area cleaned out, try running CC with the PC in Safe Mode.
