CCleaner won't open on my Mac

After clicking and dragging folder icon into applications, I can't open it.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Do you use any anti virus?

Yes. I use Total AV, but it doesn't bark at me. Thanks for your input!

Will it open if you whitelist it, eclude it in realtime scanner (as a test to see if it's your AV that is blocking it)

In order for me to whitelist it, Total AV would first had to have flagged it - which it hasn't.

It was a good suggestion though.

Thank you!

Sorry Kevin, I don't use a mac or Total AV so cannot really suggest anything else.

Perhaps check CCleaner isn't already running in background? (If you used it before)

Not according to that link that Hazelnut posted, did you try it?

That shows how to exclude a file/folder that hasn't (yet) been flagged.

PS. I don't use a Mac or Total AV either, but those instructions seem clear enough, I'd exclude the whole CCleaner folder.
