CCleaner wipe system

ok. Here's my question. With CCleaners new wipe feature do i have to go through and manually delete all files except the OS. What im tryin to do is totally wipe my hard drive but leave the OS on there because i dont have the OS or recovery disc in my possesion.

This is a very blunt answer but do not use the wipe free spaces option, it's kind of useless  well this is just my suggestion.

Others will have better stuff to say.

Wipe free space will overwrite unused space and leave all existing data and system files untouched, so you would have to remove your data, and non-O/S applications, manually, which is a pain. Do it in reverse order, get rid of the data and applications and then run CC wipe.

Your best plan is a destructive wipe, such as Dban, and then a fresh install, but you will need a Windows disk. Or use a free Linux O/S and Gui. Or let the new owners sort out the O/S.

Hi, DeSaint. :)

Macrium Reflect is often recommended here and it is a free app. I have not used it but you find several posts here about it. Would be a good idea to make backup disks before deleteing files.

Welcome and good luck.

Definitely make a disk image since that's the only way to restore the system without an install disc.
