CCleaner vs CCleaner Pro?

The only thing I see that the free version does is notify you that you can save .50 GB.

Everything is still grayed out after you enable system monitoring.

No values or settings can be changed.

I love CC Cleaner and I use the free version.

For anyone that wants the benefits of the PRO version's capability to clean the browser cache at each close, try Firefox or Chrome extension "CLICK AND CLEAN" - it will run CC Cleaner every time you close your browser and clean your cookies/cache/whatever you require.

Just install and configure the plugin - install, click program icon, check field that says 'run this program automatically each time the browser closes' (it should already have CC Cleaner listed), and make sure CC Cleaner settings are configured to your liking to clear cookies/cache or whatever you want.

*someone mentioned that Webroot's Window Washer used to do this. CC Cleaner and Click and Clean will do the same job! Enjoy.

.

However, I completely agree that Piriform does NOT make the differences between the Free and Pro versions very clear - obscuring this information makes them look shady, when in reality this is a very reputable company with an excellent product. I would strongly recommend they fix that. They mention that "complete cleaning" is one of the benefits of the PRO version which is NOT available in the free version. They do NOT explain what this means and therefore look rather like they are trying to hide something or appear to be doing something useful (when they aren't).

My understanding is that the free version and pro version have the following differences:

-real time monitoring

-automatic updates

-scheduled cleaning tasks

-live piriform support

I hope that is it??!!

Free version now has real time monitoring, has always (since feature was implemented) cleaning scheduled tasks.

It's usually not a good idea to offer alternatives to a product in its official forum...I don't think your post specifically breaks the non-competition rule so I left it but you come close and another moderator may not be a generous as i am at this very finite moment

I created an account just to reply to this post. I have used CCleaner free for years. I just went to update and noticed the feature list didnt look simular, Have I just not noticed or have they removed a lot of features from the free? The one that got me thinking was the "complete cleaning" what exactly does the free not remove?

No features have been removed from free. "Complete cleaning", while very confusingly worded, has been described by the developers as referring to the multiple/all PC users in single cleaning session.

Edit: Also (to the chagrin of many) real time monitoring has been added to ccleaner free

Thank you, Yes very confusingly worded. I guess it has been some time since I really paid attention to the features. I just download the update and install.

What the really average person needs is not relevant because that person does not pay for Pro support.

Not sure what you mean. Anyone can contact support, priority is just given to paying customers

Good to know Piriform is keeping CCleaner free and not falling into that pay per year thing that what seems like all software companies are doing nowadays :D

If you love the program and you been using it forever. why not support the developer by paying the 25 bucks? And yes, I do support developers that turn out great free apps when my budget allows.

Just the fact that Ccleaner updates automatically and cleans each time you shut your browser is worth the cost and support is just a bonus.

I also created an account after reading this post. The other day I was looking for a duplicate file program and only had a minute to look for it and could not find, however I knew it was here. Then today CCleaner made an appearance --I wish it would make an appearance everyday!

The link below lists the differences, so it looks like the free version DOES NOT automate on its on but manual instead. There are now Three versions

and honestly the price is so good that I will upgrade to the professional one if only because the program saves me a lot of grief!! The link above doesn't not even list the duplicate file checker (come on guys put it on there so people will know that is a huge benefit)!! I'm using it for that reason. The other things are just a bonus for me.

the only diference is in the monitoring in the advence option of the left menu, there are two options: users and monitoring, both are functions of monitoring of ccleaner but in the free version they arent allowed to use

the only diference is in the monitoring ...

not quiet the only difference.

there is also multi-user cleaning, auto-updates, priority support.

What "non-competition rule"?

It's an unwritten rule you won't see in the forum rules set by the owner who told the mod staff years ago to delete topics/posts about competing products. We don't always do that though as we can just edit out the names and links of competing products, instead of just outright deleting something.

Wow J, over three years to respond to a post, this is a super-necromancy thread.

HI i believe you guys could help and you well because we live, Could some one help between provisional and pro c cleaner what the best
