CCleaner V7 - Icon on task bar

Pinning CCleaner to the task bar results in a blank white page not the usual/expected icon.
Unpinned and re-pinned but no change.
CClearner can be launched OK.
Unpinning removes the white page and the usual/expected icon appears in it’s place.

On closing CCleaner the icon disappears as expected.

I’m not sure what you are meaning, could you explain more about just how you are ‘pinning’ it and/or post a screenshot?

If I click the desktop icon and ‘Pin to Taskbar’ then it works as expected for me.
Are you pinning using a different method?

Thanks for your interest…..

I right click on the CCleaner icon in the “Start Menu”, use the “More” option and select “Pin to taskbar” ….. as you have shown.

The result, highlighted in green, is below….

I can left or right click on it and open CCleaner or select “Unpin from taskbar”

If CCleaner is running and I select “Unpin from taskbar” the icon is replaced with the expected icon and on closing it disappears as expected.

Weird…..

(I’ve removed your ‘Solved’ flag)

Thanks, a picture paints more words.
Pinning is putting an icon on the taskbar, it’s just the wrong icon.

Firstly I’d make sure that it is v7 that you are pinning and not a leftover start menu shortcut to the now removed v6.
As v6 will have been removed then pinning a left over shortcut would give the generic blank page icon.

If you haven’t done a Restart (not Shutdown) of your machine recently then I would do that to refresh the system, and then try pinning again.

If it is still giving the generic icon rather than the CCleaner one then I’d do a refresh of your Windows icon cache and then try the pinning again.

If that is still giving the generic icon rather than the CCleaner one then it would appear that the install hasn’t given you the icon for some reason, try reinstalling CCleaner v7.
