Subscription: CCleaner Professional
My CCleaner updated to V7 today.
It worked.
After checking the functionality of the new CCleaner V7, I regret to report that this tool no longer serves my purpose. Most of the important functions and settings options have been lost.
As a paying Pro customer, what am I supposed to do with a registry cleaner that displays all the registry keys to be deleted in a small window without a scroll bar, so that all key paths are cut off to the point of being unidentifiable? Not even the exceptions have been carried over from V6 - let alone the fact that such exceptions cannot be defined in V7 and excluded from the scan.
This is just one example - the loss of functionality is evident throughout the entire tool.
Déjà vu - 1.5 years after Gen Digital acquired Norton, I terminated my ongoing Norton subscription, which I had maintained for 20 years. Both the suite and the additionally purchased tools were transformed into bloatware for novices due to Gen Digitalization.
CCleaner V7 reminds me to 100% of the corresponding Gen Digital “update” to the Norton Utilities at the time. New and virtually identical UI, but no more pro functionality, including the useless and unprofessional display of illegible and uneditable lists. Just Bloatware.
CCleaner V7 has become useless to me. If you continue like this, my CCleaner subscription will also end at the end of the current period.
In the meantime, I have disabled the cheeky automatic start of CCleaner as well as that of the CCleanerService task.
And I no longer use the tool.
Let’s see if you can come up with an update that will make CCleaner a useful and valuable tool again.
Best regards
