What antivirus software do you use?
What Browser(s) do you use (chrome, firefox, Internet Explorer)
Does this occur only when pressing the clean button? Does it happen everytime (in this version of ccleaner I mean). Do any warning or error screen or ccleaner just disappears?
I have the same issue in Windows 7 Professional. The CCleaner closes only when pressing the "Run cleaner" button. CCleaner just disappears.
CCleaner free (v5.42);
Kaspersky Total Security;
Chrome, Internet Explorer or Opera browser (s);
Please help.

Update kaspersky to the latest patch, uninstall then reinstall ccleaner, see if that helps. The devs are currently working on a fix

Hi, RobertDitLeBob
Thanks for the answer. I followed your suggestion and the issue is solved... for now.

Usually one of us moderator types would point you to filehippo but, when I went to get you a link, I saw no old versions. Hopefully that is a fluke on my part.

They're located here on FileHippo:
Same problem with Vn 5.42.6499 (both 32 bit & 64 bit versions) both simple delete and overwrite once.
Using Kaspersky Internet Security Vn 18.0.0.495(h), Winpatrol 35.5.207.8, Windows 10 (64 bit) 1709, Build 16299.431
and for browsers, Edge, Internet Explorer, Seamonkey (recognised as Firefox) and Vivaldi (not recognised).
I've gone back to Vn 5.41.6446 until it's fixed!
Same problem as everyone else since upgrading to 5.42 version. CCleaner does not respond. How do I go back to ver 5.41?
Thanks Hazelnut, got the old version installed and everything is good now! Hopefully the new version will get fixed without the bugs.

You may also want to use a previous version and downgrade like some other users have been doing until they fix it.
Previous versions are available at:
