Having last week installed both IE8 and CCleaner v2.19.901 - not sure which first - I decided yesterday to register for iGoogle personalized Home page.
After closing IE and running CCleaner I was presented with the Google Classic Home page when I next connected to the internet.
Adding all Google to ?Cookies to Keep? list then toggling to ANALYZE, and immediately back I noticed that Google cookies were back in ?Cookies to Delete? list?
I temporarily gave all Users write access to ?C:\Program Files\CCleaner\ccleaner.ini? allowing CCleaner to update the file - this resolved the problem.
Well there is a problem with cookies in the last couple of versions of CC. You check whats in the Cookies to Delete list, do a clean and go back to the list and the cookies are still there. I put back v2.18.878 and it cleans them all now.

Keith, sorry I obviously didn't make it clear enough in my original post - my problem was that I couldn't retain wanted cookies. Adding cookies to "Cookies to Keep" list didn't work - I got round this by setting write permission on 'ccleaner.ini' file; with previously installed version of CCleaner this wasn't necessary.
I couldn't find any posts from users encountering this exact problem.
