CCleaner upgrade problem

I recentlly upgraded to v.2.28.1091 on both my Win2000 professional sp4 computer running AVG 9.0 and IE6 and my WinXP laptop running PCSecurity Deluxe 2009 and IE8. Neither machine will now delete cookies. I don't want to delete using the delete tab in IE as it will also delete the ones I ask CCleaner to save. What went wrong and how do I correct. Thanks.................eddielee

Thanks eddielee - A better subject line might read: COOKIES DO NOT CLEAN! but I agree, this only started after upgrade to 1091.

Intermittent problems are the worst: v.2.28.1091 - On 2 different XP machines and after uninstall/reinstall of 1091 - COOKIES on the Left "TO DELETE," do not.

Closing CCLEANER and reopening 1 in 10 tries "may" then show the COOKIES deleted, but most often they're still there.

Looking for suggestions too.

I guess there is no one here that is capable of answering "our" question.

I finally got CCleaner to delete cookies. My solution? Go to Applications and check the box(s) for Adobe reader 8.0, Sun Java and Adobe Flash Player. Now my cookies delete - don't ask why it worked - it just did. However, they don't go away from the left side of the cookie page until you close CCleaner. Re-open, and they're gone! works for me......eddielee

Yes, no one here but us. Oh well forge ahead.

To your comment: "...don't ask why it worked -..." So , B-4 I changed any settings I checked the left side again and this time the COOKIES had been deleted, I have no idea why it worked this time and not the last 5 tires.

Mysteries aside, on another PC I have running CCleaner v2.27.1027 and yes, I guess over time I had unchecked some of the items under APPLICATIONS and now they are 100% checked, and deletion of COOKIES is 100% complete. Back at the current v.2.28.1091 this is working as well.

I guess after 2+ years of happily using CCleaner without any issues this needed to be learned.

Aloha!
