I had to have Best Buy Geek Squad repair the issue. They think that when CCleaner introduced the new updates they created multiple paths and accesses to all my programs which resulted in everything I tried to access having no defined paths.
In addition, the change completely eliminated my CCleaner program.
Is it safe to reinstall CCleaner?
That actually sounds more like something that we saw a few years ago with certain Antivirus programmes.
It was complicated, but if you had one of those AVs it moved multiple programmes from where they should have been and into a Windows ‘Temporary’ directory.
So if you then ran any cleaner that Windows Temporary directory got cleaned which is what cleaners do - and the programmes were gone.
(Important things should never be put in the Windows temporary directories).
Are you using an Antivirus other than Windows Defender?
If so then what AV is it?
(If you are then I suggest that you don’t run any cleaner app at the moment).
EDIT- Just another thing, you say “all my programs” but was it everyhing?
Can you tell us just which softwares were affected by this?
