CCleaner update, now have Japanese characters in start up list.

Hi, having just updated this morning to try and rid my startup menu of a stubborn entry (another story) i've noticed 2 entries written in Japanese. They weren't there yesterday so I can only assume there appearance has something to do with this mornings update.

I have no idea what they are, i cannot copy/paste the characters into google either. They may have been there yesterday but in English and so i wouldn't have noticed them.

Has the update changed the language of these 2 entries or are they new? If new where have they come from? I cannot find any reference to these entries anywhere on the net.

Hi, ajacko.

Compare the MSCONFIG startup list with the CCleaner startup list.

Then you will find what they are.

Incidentally, these are NOT Japanese characters but "Chinese simplified characters".

Hi sakura, thanks for the info, my oriental written language recognition isn't what it used to be :D .

In the end I created a restore point and deleted them, figuring I didn't need them as i'd never seen them before. After a full shutdown and re-boot they haven't reappeared.

Job done I think, thanks again.
