Not sure what to make of this since I've been using CCleaner for years and haven't encountered it before!
The attached has appeared on my desktop a couple times and I ignore it wondering if it's legitimate.
Is it legitimate?

Yes it's legit.
It's a promotion that they have been running with a discount if you buy the pro version.
Useful to know, I would never open anything if it just popped up like that...!

I think it would be less confusing if offers like that were only shown in the main program GUI, then people would know for sure it's legitimate and exactly where it's coming from.
I agree, it flies in the face of good security. One should never click on random pop-ups, especially those that make it seem like they got a gift or won something, which this one does.
With how prevalent malware is you'd think a company owned by an antivirus/antimalware company would've known that, maybe not.
Just another needless addition to the program.
It's getting to the point that the 'needless additions' such as popups, quick cleans and data collection now are starting to outweigh the basic program.
