CCleaner tools startup windows services

Hello, When i load my EA (Electrionic Arts) software on my PC it errors out and tells me that the EABackgroundService has been disabled and needs to be enabled. So i set it to enabled via your software and next time i loaded EA it was the same issue. Then i went into the actual windows 10 window services and set it to enabled and also set it in the ccleaner tools startup all over again. Next time i opened EA it was the same thing.

Why cant i set the EA background service to load at startup, is ccleaner the issue?

Dunno but:

Did you do a 'Restart' (not a Shutdown) of your computer after changing the settings in both CCleaner and Windows?

Have you set the EA service to sleep with CCleaners Performance Optimiser perhaps?

The full test of whether it's CCleaner causing the issue would be to uninstall CCleaner, Restart your machine, and see if the issue has changed or not.

Make a note of your CCleaner registered name/key before uninstalling so that you can reregister it when you reinstall.

Yes i did a reboot (not restart) after changing. That is a great idea about uninstalling CCleaner and letting it default to windows settings, i will try that and let you know.

Thanks again :)

Since Windows 8 you should 'Restart' when you want to clear a machines current state instead of doing 'Shutdown/Reboot'.

It may seem counter-intuitive if you are used to older Windows versions but a Restart now clears out more than a Shutdown does.

That's because they changed how things work starting with Win 8 and a Shutdown now hibernates the Windows kernel so that it can boot a bit more quickly next time.

(Even with Fast Startup turned off Shutdown still hibernates the kernel).

So if you want to clear out of the currently running state and have a fresh start of Windows then 'Restart' needs to be used to do that.

Great thanks so much :)
