CCleaner stuck at 50% clearing Google Chrome Internet History

Can anyone tell me why CCleaner is stuck trying to clean Chrome internet history?

It starts with cleaning IE9 ok, but gets stuck at 50% doing Chrome internet history.

Sometimes it completes, but usually it just sits there for several minutes doing (apparently nothing)

I am running:

IE9 9.0.8112.16421

Chrome 16.0.891.0 dev-m

Chrome 16.0.896.0 canary

and sometimes

Firefox 6.0.2

Look in Task Manager to see if any Google Chrome processes are running, if there are any running they need to be closed.

Be sure to look on the second tab of task manager called "processes"

also look there for "plugincontainer"

do you have google sync or google cloud print (whatever they are called)?

niether of these close when you exit chrome.
