I have downloaded the latest CCleaner 414. It runs through the Analyze stage completely. It stops during Cleaner stage when it gets to Firefox History. I have uninstalled and reinstalled --same thing. I have been using CCleaner for several years. This is the first issue I have encountered.
Usually this is caused by Firefox or another Mozilla-based product still being open: either not exited or running in the background. Make sure you've exited firefox. Open windows task manager and go to the processes tab (details tab in Windows 8+) and look for any firefox.exe or any othe mozilla based programs, if any found kill the task(s) and try ccleaner.
There have been reports of Mozilla's background updater being one culprit for this, I believe. If it is the case that it's the cause Mozilla needs to close their databases if not being used by the updater (ahem @Winapp2.ini)
Thanks for the reply.
I tried again. Nothing fIrefox ot mazilla running as per task manager. I ran analysis OK, Cleaner stopped again at FirefoxHistory. Then it (CCleaner) exits.
I then unchecked the Firefox Internet History and ran CCleaner again. Worked as expected.
I then reset/checked the Firefox Internet History and ran CCleaner again. It fails when it starts Firefox History.
Seems to be an issue with CCLeaner and FireFox History.
What version of Firefox are you running
Firefox 30.0 and it says my Firefox is up to date.
either try running CC from Safe Mode and/or go to the FF cache folder and manually clear it out.
