CCleaner stops Mozilla VPN from autostarting

Hello. I use Mozilla VPN, and I always set it up to start automatically each time I start my (Windows 10) PC. Unfortunately, each time in the past year or so that I’ve run CCleaner, it has (apparently) removed something that Mozilla VPN relies on in order to autostart. So far I’ve been unable to find out exactly what, though.

At Mozilla’s suggestion, I added “C:\Program Files\Mozilla\Mozilla VPN\” as a folder to be excluded from cleaning, but it didn’t help. As a result, each time I restart my computer after running CCleaner, I have to re-install Mozilla VPN and set it to autostart–which then works fine until the next time I run CCleaner.

Hi @DSatz,
Apologies for the delayed response on this one, and thank you for your patience.

Are you still experiencing this issue with Mozilla VPN not autostarting after running CCleaner? Our team is looking into this and it would help to know which CCleaner function or cleaning option you were using beforehand (for example, Health Check, Performance Optimizer, Custom Clean, etc.).

Let us know if it’s still happening and we’ll go from there.
