CCleaner stops at 48%

I have updated, installed, uninstalled and reinstalled etc and same thing

ccleaner runs till 48% and stops and get error message then windows closes

run it again and again and same thing......I have used CCleaner for many many

years and this is first time I have encountered this

I am running wingows 10

Can you tell where it is cleaning where it stops?

Also what does the error message say?

It stops at diff places, seems to be the 48% is where it stops each time I run it,

doesn't matter if cleaning windows or applications stops at 48%

Registry clean runs to completion

Error CCleaner has stopped working

a problem caused the program to stop working correctly

windows will close the program and notify you if a solution

is available

then I run again and again same thing each time, it gets to a diff place but never past 48%

Can you run it in debug mode? Instructions are here (you probably will need the 64bit instructions)

Then either zip up the log file and attach it or copy and paste the relevant bits of the log into a post.

I have pointed the devs to your log.

By the way, does CC clean if you untick Compact Databases under Firefox in CCleaner Applications?

Compact Databases under Firefox was not ticked, I have the only the downloaded presets ticked

So, I unticked all the Firefox and it ran, then ticked one at a time and it is the Firefox Internet History

where it seems to be having the problem. if I have it ticked I get the error, unticked it runs, hope this helps

see if cleaning FF history using FF's own process helps; https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Protect-your-privacy/Delete-browsing-search-and-download-history-on-Firefox/ta-p/3695#w_how-do-i-clear-my-history

then with the CC option ticked, see if FF completes.

FF History setting is set to: Never Remember History

checked to see about clearing history and the Clear Recent History

is not clickable due to the above history setting

if I change my FF setting to Remember History, then CC runs without error

if setting is in Never Remember History It stops and I get the error message

I downloaded the new version 5.28.6005 yesterday and now everything works great
