CCleaner still not cleaning cache Android 16

Hi folks. Despite the new release today and install of CCleaner, my Pixel 10 pro xl, on Android 16 running the 3/4/26 security patch, still does not delete any app caches. Product is pretty much useless now. Anyone have any thoughts or if tech support reads this please s drop me a message at

Thanks. Mark

I’m having the same issues, pixel 9 pro XL. When it goes through the process of cleaning the cache it takes way longer than it used to, and doesn’t end up cleaning the cache anyway. Makes the software completely useless.

I am running Android 15 and have two separate subscriptions, both on Android tablets. One of them CCLEANER works fine cleaning “hidden” cache. On the other 2022 Lenovo M11 tablet, the Ccl Will run but only remove 10-25% of theses hidden items: eg 890mb down to 590 MB after running it "**three*” times. On the third and 4th y, it says hidden cache 590mb…”removed 0 mb”. Of course I have to give it a THUMBS DOWN. What to do to fix it ?

Ditto..

Hi All,
Yesterday’s update was part of our normal release cycle, and the team is still investigating the issue with CCleaner and the latest Android 16 update.
Once I have more details, I will follow up in this thread.

Ditto on Pixel 8 Pro

Same, Pixel 10 pro XL. An avid fan of CCleaner for a long time, but after the March update, nothing. Cleans no caches. Went through the troubleshooting steps, all permissions disabled/enabled again, uninstalled, downloaded again, checked all updates, etc. No luck.

Same here: both Pixel 7a and Pixel tablet installs of CCleaner 26.04.0 fail on Android 16. And, of course, my subscription just renewed in late March….

This has being going on for about a month now. It’s really bad form that there isn’t a fix and more regular updates.

How do we get refunds for faulty apps?

Does this need reporting officially in the app store because you can’t sell apps that aren’t fit for purpose.

Pixel 8, Android 16…same issue. Been using Pro for several years and it’s gone from a 30-second quick clean to 5 minutes or more…. most apps slide across the Storage screen multiple times and yet CC still doesn’t clear cache.

And all the while I’m being bombarded with ads telling me to upgrade from Pro to ProPro or whatever the hell it is. At this rate I won’t be renewing…it’s quicker these days to clear cache myself frankly.

I’ve Unsubscribed now and soon will report the app to Google. I’ve had at least a month with no use.

I think users should be getting refunds.

It’s pathetic to be honest.

mine is also not working. it goes through the motions but doesn’t clean ro remove anything, but iv also found this issue on other so called cleaning apps. crap cleaner 7 for windows also fails when it comes to removing temporary internet files and and other things. I’m waiting see if there’s going to be an other system update that fixes these issues for us .., I pay for mine yearly and should be expecting a fix soon.or il be requesting a part refund.

And another update released last few days but STILL not working. Quick Clean says it can remove 3gb+ but only removes 110mb. 2.9gb of hidden cache absolutely untouched…..
