Does anyone know how to fix SLOW START-UP of CCleaner Pro?

There is a bug that is being looked into. Have you previously used the driver updater feature. If yes please tell us the content of Program Files\CCleaner\Data\BackupStorage and the size of the files

Hi CCleaner devs and support staff..

for the past few releases or so..

I have noticed the startup times for CCleaner v5 and v6 on my Dell G15 Ryzen Edition 5515 gaming laptop, which runs Windows 10 Pro x64

have been very slow.. ie. load times have been very long.. 4 to 8 seconds instead of 1-2 like on my Desktop gaming rig... which runs Windows 11 Pro x64.

Is it a bug in CCleaner or a Windows 10 issue maybe?

I would appreciate some feedback, advice, or help...

as I am not sure if it is a bug or not...

I currently have CCleaner (v6.0.9727)(Pro) installed on both computers.. laptop and desktop.

ok so not technically a bug but it shows where CCleaner could use some improvements...

I found in the [CCleaner\Data\BackupStorage] folder a hand full of zip backups...

two were over 300MB in size ..

so that was the culprit after all..

CCleaner is now back to loading in 1-2 seconds now..

a way to look at the driver backups inside CCleaner might help other people out more so..

so we can know that there are lots of backups effecting the startup speed..

maybe or something else..

I will update my post on the tensforums to let them know I found a solution with the help of CCleaner staff.

When I first bought Ccleaner, the desktop shortcut worked within seconds. Then, 2 weeks ago, it took 15 seconds to open. Now it takes over 30! It still does what its supposed to do but Im thinking down the road if it will take even longer. 

I've not done <em>anything</em> to my PC, files, apps, settings, etc. for this to be the cause so...




Anyone got some advise?  THANKS!

even though I have got rid of the backups its now back to loading really slow and I don't know why..

earlier the tool would launch right away, of late if I click on the icon it takes 2 to 3 minutes to launch

after running the tool, it says good vs what it used to say earlier

Thanks to the customers who were able to follow up with additional details for us, we were able to isolate the issue and develop a fix for the users impacted by the slow startup time, which should be released in CCleaner 6.01 shortly.

Note that this has been fixed in CCleaner 6.01:

That should solve this issue for most/all users.
