Thanks for creating the slim version of CCleaner 3.
I tend to use the silent installation method (/S) and was wondering if version 3 could install where it does NOT create a desktop shortcut?
Thanks,
John

Hello!
I just downloaded CCleaner 3.00 and installed to few my computers with silent install, as usual (ccsetup300.exe /S).
But I noticed, that with new CCleaner i have Google Chrome browser installed (version 7.0.517.41), and it set as default browser! (before it was Firefox).
Then I tried to manually install ccsetup300.exe, I don't found anything about Chrome in installed.
Cound you please make it clear?
Also, what difference in Installer and Slim builds? http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds
"Installer, no toolbar " - what toolbar?
Sometimes it asks you if you want to install Chrome, sometimes it's the Google Toolbar. That's how Piriform earns money.
The Slim build doesn't have any adware in the installer, that's the only different thing.
Something interesting...
The Registry key HKLM\Software\Google\No Chrome Offer Until\ contains a key "Piriform Ltd" and a YYYYMMDD date. I think setting the value to 20990101 should work...
(or HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Google\No Chrome Offer Until\ on x64 Windows versions)
Hmmm. I don't have one of those...
Do you have Chrome installed? Were you offered Google Chrome or the Toolbar?
I already had Chrome so it didn't ask me anything!
Can't remember, Aethec, but I don't think so. It was the slim version, which I've used for several years now. Actually I've just installed 3.0 slim on the spouse's laptop, and there was the usual five boxes to uncheck. No mention of Chrome, Google or owt at all. No, I don't have Chrome installed on any box.
If it's the Slim version, it won't ask you about Chrome. But it seems even the normal version can be made like the slim version
I just downloaded the normal installer and ran it and it didnt offer me chrome

I don't know exactly how Chrome offers work, however I'm wondering if another software which previously offered is readable by another installer.

I used the slim build myself when I upgraded to v.3 because the standard .exe build has Chrome into it. Don't forget that another difference is that the slim build installer is smaller than the standard installer in terms of size.

The standard build has a tiny installer that can install Chrome afterwards, not Chrome itself
