Is this a known issue?
When I scan using the latest version, Ccleaner shows both Avast 6 and Avast 8 under Utilities with both options checked.

yes both use the same detect path, this has been mentioned before I believe.
Rare double post for me but need OP and Developers to notice this so
[Avast! Antivirus 6] ID=2271 LangSecRef=3024 Detect=HKLM\Software\Avast Software\Avast Detect2=HKCU\Software\Avast Software\Avast Default=True FileKey1=%ProgramData%\Avast Software\Avast\log|*.* [Avast! Devs, please combine these two entries.

Probably best to PM MrT and point him to your post.
Is there any fix for this?
Because I still have the same issue.
Seems it has been forgotten...
Also, I have a similar problem with Adobe Shockwave that still appears under "Macromedia Shockwave 11".
Could you please help?
Thanks

can you update to latest version which is v5.16

Thank you. I didn't had an old version but updating it solved the issue for Avast.
But I still have the problem for "Macromedia Shockwave 11". The worst is that it is not installed anymore on my computer but it's still displayed on CCleaner.

that mean the uninstaller didn't do the job well and left some leftover
in this case, registry entry that ccleaner check for the cleaning rule
you can ignore it or run cc with /EXPORT switch to check which registry entry that cc use to detect Shockwave
This is what the detections are:
HKLM\Software\Adobe\Shockwave 11
HKCU\Software\Adobe\Shockwave 11
