I noticed that on the version as of today, .~lock* files are not being removed. I have to do so manually. I coudl not find a topic about them, so I figured I come directly here and ask about them, Not what they are, but why Ccleaner not see them removeable because they are left over at times on the computer that had it opened. I tried to add in *~lock* to be included, but it does not find them.
Thanks for any thoughts on this.
where are the .lock files? CCleaner doesn't scan recursively so if they're not in a scanned location, they wont be deleted. Additionally, if they're in use when CCleaner is run, they wont be deleted.
These files are scattered all over, usually from documents that were opened. Say the program or computer crashes, these files are left over since the document was never properly closed. Therefore, when another computer tries to open the document, because a left over lock file is there, file is still locked from editing, etc.
Funny how all these years I thought it scanned recursively.
