CCleaner removes Office recent-file list

Excluding

C:\Users\YOURACCOUNT\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office\Recent\*.*

only works in some language (dutch, english, ...........) versions of MS Office. If the user has e.g. a spanish or a german version of MS Word\MS Office then this doesn't work because then this folder has a different name. E.g. in the spanish version this folder is called "....\Office\Reciente\.......".

I am using Windows 7 with the Chrome browser, CCleaner 5.10.5373 64 bit.. How do I keep recent file list in MS Office from being cleaned. Forum post addressed only Internet Explorer.

Richard

Internet explorer and chrome have nothing to do with the issue, @Willy2's advice still holds for you

in german there is the same folder

C:\Users\xyz\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office\Recent

:-) thanks willy2

hello pieron,

either you are doing it as Willy2 has described it

or

you uncheck the box in ccleaner --> cleaner --> applications --> applications --> office xy

I don't understand what willy2 is suggesting. The file location is where the office recents are located. What do I do with this info?

In ccleaner/windows/windows explorer there is a box for recent documents but there is no corresponding box in applications/chrome.

Must the box "Office" be unchecked in applications/applications/Office 2013? If I understand it correctly if unchecked nothing will be scanned including office recents..

Thank you

dank

C:\Users\PIERON\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office\Recent\*.*

take this path with your user-account (i have it called PIERON) in your EXCLUDE-List in Ccleaner...

ccleaner-->options-->exclude-->add

a window opens

in first area "Drive or Folder" take the path into this or browse it manually

confirm with ok

In ccleaner/windows/windows explorer there is a box for recent documents but there is no corresponding box in applications/chrome.

as nergal says, it have nothing to do with chrome

it must be in ccleaner->applications->applications...

I don't understand what willy2 is suggesting. The file location is where the office recents are located. What do I do with this info?

you have 2 ways

1.) uncheck box "office 2013" or what you have in ccleaner->applications->applications->office 2013

ccleanerofficem7gasxdvhy.jpg

or if you have this box checked for cleaning

2.) use the path from willy2 in your exlude-list

ccleaneroffice42jofiv9cd.jpg

my opinion? take 1.) its easyer

Thanks for all your help. Including recents in exclude file list only works when office 2013 unchecked.

Unchecking office 2013 and having no files excluded seems to work. Recent files are still available in Excell.

Is this the way exclude files should work. Doesn't seem logical to me.

Many thanks again.

Pieron

Thanks all! I have same problem and now solved perfect!
