Ccleaner Registry cleaner hangs at 17%

Hi, I have been having problems with ccleaner hanging at 17% when I clean the registry, the progam freezes and has to be shut down using the windows task manager, I'm running Windows 7 home edition. Everything else on CCleaner works great, just the registry cleaner hangs. Any help would be very much appreciated

Which version of CCleaner are you using?

Be thankful it freezes. You probably would not recognize if it was about to destroy a vital key.

If you really want to clean the registry then YOU have to identify where it freezes.

Uncheck ALL the boxes and ensure it will NOT freeze as it cleans nothing.

Then check only ONE box at a time and clean and observe success or failure.

When you have a failure then run the Analysis again and then Right click one of the Registry Keys and choose Save to Text...".

You can either paste the contents of that file, or you can attach that file to you next post,

and also report whether it froze on analysis, or whether it is the Fix Selected Issues that freezes.
