I recently performed a registry scan and fix, this fixed just over 350 problems and i havent had any problems with programs not working or other possible effects of deleting important registry files yet, which is good. However, i then scanned again for issues and it came up with another hundred or so mainly ActiveX/Com Issues, would this be because the previous scan deleted files needed by ActiveX? causing addtional files to become problems?

Some issues don't reveal themselves until others are rectified.My experience with CCleaner Registry cleaning is that it is a very 'GENTLE" CLEANER COMPARED TO OTHER REGISTRY CLEANERS. I use ERUNT and NTREGOPT available from
the author on the NET.These handle backing up and optimizing the Registry and are old reliable FREE products.

Be careful with Regseeker. When I ran it on my laptop it so destroyed the registry I had to reinstall Windows! Three times, because I didn't know Regseeker was doing the damage. I never had any problem with it on my XP desktop, but Regseeker and Vista don't get along, for me anyway. CCleaner's registry cleaner has caused any problems though, which is why I love it.
Yeah I have Regseeker also. Did not know it supports Vista. I rarely use it anymore. It allows you to do some dangerous stuff! I needed ERUNT'S back up to restore a couple of times .
Notice to all GET ERUNT and NTREGOPT . When I make terrible mistakes I like to completely RESTORE my registry.
Best advice I can give so far is leave the registry alone (other than CCleaner Registry cleaning).

Regseeker claims to support Vista, but didn't when last I used it, and I don't plan on trying it again! It made null values in the registry which were then read and write protected, so I couldn't delete them or use a backup. It was not good.
