ccleaner pro wont run

Just had a message to say update available I updated now CCleaner wont run Do I uninstall and reinstall ??

Could you tell us which version of Windows you are using? and if your CCleaner is the Free or Pro version?
Uninstall/reinstall is often a way to cure issues like this, it may be as well to download a new installer as well just in case something went wrong during the download.
Of course uninstall/reinstall will lose your current CCleaner setings and the new install will have the default settings.
Let us know how it goes.

CCleaner version 5.64.7613 was working well under both Win 7 and Win 10. Version 5.65.7632 stops working (won't open, icon disappears from the right side menu bar) within a few days of the original update. If you then re-install v5.65.7632, it appears to complete the re-install successfully, but won't open at the end of the installer, and won't open from the desktop icon after closing the installer.

Would you please provide access to the v5.64.7613 release so I can downgrade the software to the earlier revision until the problems with the 5.65 release get sorted out.

Some users are having issues with v5.65 that seem to be due to antivirus programmes not recognising it yet.

Trend Micro seems to be a particular problem, and possibly McAfee.

If you are one of the affected users then for now we suggest re-installing and using a previous version, v5.64 or v5.63, which can be found under 'Older Versions' on the right of: https://filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/

Note that you will have to use the older version in Free mode.

If you register an older version then it will immediately update itself, leaving you were you were at the start.

This happens from time to time - usually with 2nd and 3rd tier AV companies. The CCleaner user base is larger than the population of most countries. Most AV companies should respond promptly to multiple complaints of false positives from their customers (well ... promptly under normal circumstances - many may have their their operations disrupted by recent events).

On the other hand, if your antivirus/internet security provider is consistently providing out of date protection, that is probably a bad sign and you may wish to consider an alternative AV.

Hi, thanks for reaching out to our community. We're sorry about the error you have experienced. Our product team is aware of this issue. So far our investigations (as well as this and other threads) show that adding CCleaner to the exception list of your anti-virus should solve the issue - so far this has worked for Trend Micro and Virus Buster. Or, as suggested above, downloading an older version of CCleaner.
