Ccleaner work on mac?
Hi, and welcome to the forums
At this point CCleaner only works on windows computers, sorry. I do not know (or think) that it will ever work on mac.
Thanks,why not?
As a windows user, I love ccleaner it was perfect
and now Im on mac
It was decided by the Piriform Development team to stay with windows development for all of their products.
From a programmer's point of view this makes perfect sense. The Methods used by CCleaner for detecting software is not easily ported to other Operating systems. For instance on a Mac there is no "registry" there is no "%appdata%" folder. Macs don't have add/remove programs they you just throw any a program you don't want.
Macintosh Software is written in a different programming language and what not.
[opinion]Also I don't think the majority (don't want to start a war here, but from the Apple Business model, this is a valid point) of mac users are concerned with computer maintenance. A lot of them buy their computer because it "just works" and what not, though this is not to say all windows users are concerned with this, either. I think the market in the Mac field is simply too small to warrant a complete re-write of the program in a different language to be inclusive of the mac OS [/stolenfromnergal][/opinion]

Well, anyway, the main thing to clean in OS X are applications leftovers, and there's already quite a lot of uninstallers...
