CCleaner Notification of Trash

I get a weekly notification popup saying that CCleaner has found 700 mb of files that could be deleted. I find that a lot of files for weekly deletion. I don't believe I am given a preview of which files are included. Can you enlighten me?

If you are constantly seeing the same large amount of trash then you probably have a corrupted recycle bin.

It's a fairly common issue, but most people don't notice a corrupted bin unless they use a cleaning app like CCleaner.

You can check by using Custom Clean instead of Health Check.

Make sure you have 'Empty Recycle Bin' ticked under 'System', then do an 'Analyze', and see what it says for the recycle bin.

If it's saying there is a lot in there, click 'Run CCleaner' and then Analyze again - if it still says the same for the bin then that's a corrupted bin. See below for how to fix it.

This one is fine, but it shows you where to look:

It's simple to fix a corrupted recycle bin, see the 4 steps here:

I think they mean general trash (junk) not the recycle bin .

I'm going off the fact that the OP says CCleaner is generally reporting about the same amount (in this case 700 mb) each time - that's usually a sign of a corrupted bin.

As said; the way to check that is by using Custom Clean and seeing what it says that 700 mb actually is.

Even if it isn't the bin using Custom Clean will tell you just what it is.
