I wanted to report the latest version of CCleaner is not cleaning any cookies in the latest version of Chrome. History is removed just fine, though. This looks like a similar issue that we saw a month or so ago. I first noticed this when returning to YouTube after running CCleaner and seeing my volume for videos was still set the same (instead of being set the whole way up as it does with no cache). I then went into my cookie settings within Chrome, and there were thousands of cookies still present. Oddly enough, I still have to re-log back into websites after running CCleaner, yet all cookies are still present in the Chrome cache. Youtube for example, remembers my volume settings, but I still have to log back in.
I've been able to replicate this same problem across 2 different computers and operating systems. I also have the "Continue running background apps" disabled, and I am not signed in to Chrome with my Google account on either PC.
Here are my specs:
Chrome v. 61.0.3163.91 - 64 bit
CCleaner v. 5.34.6207
Windows 10 Pro v.1703 64 bit
Other PC is Windows 7 SP2 32 bit. Chrome and CCleaner versions are the same as above but 32 bit.
I'm happy to provide any other additional info.
Thanks very much
EDIT: I wanted to add that I tested reverting back to the previous 2 versions of CCleaner (533 and 532) testing each one at a time and the results are the same across different PCs. Cookie problem seems to be the result of recent Chrome updates.
@eruption77 make sure to wipe all traces of 5.33 as it was infected with malware
Thanks for your reply.
Yes, I've exhausted the steps in that link: I'm not signed into Chrome with my Google account on either of my 3 computers. When I have signed into Chrome in the past, I actually make it a point to ensure my history is not synced--just bookmarks. Background apps in Chrome are also disabled.
As for 5.33, no scans reported any infection. My main PC is 64-bit anyway. I'm not even sure if I had installed 5.33 on my 32-bit laptop but that same laptop actually runs Avast, so I figure it would have caught something. Was uninstalling 5.33 sufficient to wipe all traces?
Back to the cookies, I'm seeing this same behavior across 2 64-bit Win10 machines, and 1 32-bit Win7 machine.

I'm happy to provide more info as needed.
I should mention this is also happening on Win 7 64 bit.
Any update? It's been over a month with no ability to clean Chrome using this program. That's kind of an extremely important function. Doesn't exactly instill confidence in buying the upgraded version.
Hi there, also just popped into say CCleaner is still not cleaning the Chrome cookies correctly.
Windows 8.1 (fully updated) Ccleaner v5.36.6278 64bit.
Rebooted router to get new IP address (just in case)
Ticked all relevant boxes, and sites like smh.com.au still keep me blocked, due to remembering I have read my monthly quota of pages.
Thanks guys
To quote the post above I have seriously considered buying the product for my business, as it is so good - but this issue and time duration makes me question the value for $$$ when it doesn't work. (what is the refund policy when the product doesn't work - as I would still consider buying)
Yes, 5.36 doesn't seem to know Chrome exists on my workstation. I'm using Chrome Dev at the moment, but I would think cc would know where to look for that..
It was working fine for me until last night when I installed the latest version. Now it won't clean Chrome cache or history or cookies (again). I haven't changed any settings. Getting pretty tired of this...
eta: It does seem to clean cookies but that's it. I've tried uninstalling and installing the trial version of cc professional, still doesn't work properly with Chrome.
