CCleaner Keeps Starting A New Process

Hi, so I've been using CCleaner Professional for a little over a year now and I've started to notice something really annoying. When I start CCleaner and then close it, it minimizes to the process bar in the bottom right like it should. However, when I click the icon on the process bar to open it again it starts a new instance of CCleaner rather than just opening the old one. This happens every time I open and close it, leading to about 5 processes of CCleaner running at one. Is there a way to stop this? Also please note: I am NOT starting the CCleaner.exe file and wondering why a new instance started. I am just double clicking the icon in the bottom RIGHT corner (I think it's called the system tray) to re-open it.

With CC running in the system tray, there is always a CCleaner64.exe process running. (so far so good)

And yep, when you double click that icon to bring up CC, that starts another process. (normal behaviour so far)

But if you double click again, you get no more processes started, and when you do exit CC, that extra one stops and you're back to one. (what happens on my PC)

So, yes, you have a glitch somewhere. :)

What is your CC version?

What is your OS?

And to get the ball rolling, have you tried reinstalling CC?

Wow, I'm dumb. Reinstalling fixed it, and I should've done that in the first place. Thanks for your help, and sorry for the trouble.

hey, I'm glad it was that easy.

always try the dumb things first - "have you tried turning it off and on again" is all the funnier due to it being so often true.

thanks for posting back.
