CCleaner issues

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can help me with a couple of queries?

I believe CCleaner has been installed onto a networked computer however there are a number of issues that i want to clarify.

There are two versions of Explorer on the computer - the current version and an old version, Explorer 5. A technician has informed us that the temp files and internet history for the current version of explorer had been deleted by the CCleaner but the internet history and files for the older explorer 5 version is supposedly still visable. Is this correct - would the exploer 5 files/history still be visable?

Also the installation has taken place on a computer that is not manned by and 'administrator' i note that there is mention on piriform's website that an application would not normally be able to be installed on a networked computer by someone who isnt an administrator (I also note that there are posts by people on the forum who are not administrators on their networked computers but they state that they have installed CCleaner anyway) - Is it definately possible to install CCleaner on a networked computer if you are not an administrator, if so if CCleaner is installed by a non administrator would the network administrator be aware of this installation in some automatic way?

I note on piriform's website that there is advanced user information that shows how you can install the CCleaner into a folder that is not the default folder - if a user was down loading the CCleaner on a network could they save it into another users file?

Finally if I was trying to locate the date that the software was installed how would i do this - is it a simple process (i.e. check out the properties information and see the date created?) If it the date of installation is found out another way then can the date of installation be amended in any way?

I apologise if these are simple/strange questions but i am not technically minded and need to understand how the system works.

Thanks for any help you can give me it would be much appreciated.

I'm a little confused by your post, you said you have 2 different versions of Internet Explorer on the same machine as far as I'm aware thats not technically possible.

What version of Windows are you running??

Also why keep IE 5.0 this is old buggy crap that it's likely to get your machine infected with malware unless you're running the 16bit version for Windows 3.11 :)

As for CCleaner I have no idea what it will do to your browsers' history or cache files you could try running it to and see what happens.

To find out when CCleaner had been installed go to "My Computer", "Local Disk (C:)", "Program Files" look for the folder CCleaner, right click select "Properties" and check the created date.
