Ccleaner is crashing when doing a registry scan - Help!

Hello,

I'm a CCleaner power user since... since the beginning. Never had to complain. Until now. ;)

When i'm trying to do a registry scan/analysis, my CCleaner crash. Every single time. I already tried with any boxes ticked, same result. Crash.

I've tried with older version, same result.

"Ccleaner has stopped working".

Here the crash log:

Normal cleaner is working properly.

I'm on Win 7 64 bits, fresh install, full updated.

Update: works fine with 2.36.00 version.

2.36?

Ccleaner is now on 3.11

The initial report came from 3.09

please try the lastest version and see if you still have issues

My mistake, i was not very explicit: I've tried with the latest version, then with other 3 series versions, and it didn't work. So i've tried with the 2.36 one, and it worked flawless. ;)

Well yeah it "worked perfectly" because what ever entry you are having trouble with must have been introduced after. I've said it before, and before the night's over I'll says it again. Downgrading does not help work out what the issue is.

You need top install the latest version and from command line (or run box) run (including the " marks)

"C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCleaner64.exe" /debug

and try to reproduce the crash

then when it crashes

post here the .log file that appears in the ccleaner folder as an attachment to this thread. The Developers may (after that) ask you to email them the .dmp file so don't lose that.

Thanks for your reply. I just install the latest version, and now - don't ask me why - it works. Probably a bad registry entry which was corrupted and fixed by the old version of ccleaner.

by the way, thanks a lot for your help.

Glad you got it figured out :)
