Please give me details on the feature in CCleaner you are using when you experience this issue.
Also, is it what you experience a crash, i.e., your PC immediately stops, then reboots, or is it a proper shutdown, i.e., it goes through the Windows shutdown process?

when CCleaner enters ‘‘software update’’ there are several updates it wants to perform 3 windows updates it needs to perform. It takes a long time and then there is the message ;”critical proces died’’,(windows update) or “the device ran into a problem and needs to restart.(if you update the other software)
Thanks for this information @janb, we will soon be releasing CCleaner v7.10 which will have some changes to Software Updater.
When V7.10 is available, please update and let me know if you continue to experience the issue.
