Would it be possible to make a cleaner guide og cleaner options to help the less experienced users with optimal cleaning.

options could be:

emphasis on free space (e.g. clean everything that takes up space)

emphasis on privacy (e.g. clean browser history, cookies etc.)

emphasis on computer speed (e.g. don't clean prefetch folder, browser temp files etc.)

With a guide like this, inexperienced users won't have to choose between a lot of "meaningless" options, not being able to foresee the end result. Instead they can focus on their preferred result and have the guide choose the best possible options.

I've said this for years an help file should come with CC. Now TwistedMetal made a BeginnersGuide.chm help file but I can't find the link at the moment. There is also the online guide which if you haven't got a web connection is useless.

Now I expect this chm file hasn't been updated for a while but if you want it posting let me know. There is also a BeginnersGuide.chm for Recuva well there have been 2 versions for that app. ;)

I was actually thinking of a build-in-guide. Perhaps "wizard" is a more appropriate term. I myself is fairly experienced. I often recommend CC to others and I sometimes get complaints from them afterwards, saying things like: "it messed up my browser - now I can't log in to my web mail account". A lot of us know that is because they cleaned their saved form data, but they don't.

I have a lot of respect for help files, but the problem with them is that they very often only answers the questions that the authors could think of, not necessarily the questions that needs answering. And another think, people often don't read the help file until after they have messed something up.

Yes I know what you mean. Well as far as I know MrG makes CC and TwistedMetal is a Mod I'm not sure if they have disgust adding an help file or not. The comments that I've had back about this is they don't want to increase the installation pack so they don't need an help file because it has an online help link. Its not going to increase the pack that much when the file is only 65kb.

I make programs and I make help files so I know how important they are if you get stuck. I would never send out an app without the help file. ;)
