CCleaner Drive wiper stuck on "Formatting"

Like the title says, when I run the Drive Wiper tool, it just stays at "Formatting". Stuck on 0% for over 10 minutes now. I'm trying to wipe my slave drive.

I had it set to do 3 passes, but even tried it with a single pass and still nothing. How long does it usually take to start? The drive is 150GB.

No help?

O.S. version ?

Slave connected IDE / SATA / USB ?

OS: Windows 7

CCleaner version: 3.04.1389 (64bit)

Slave is SATA

So is this just a mystery or what? Not a lot of help on these forums it seems.

sure there's help on this forum. You've given very little (if any) information which would aid us in helping. does a regular format work on the drive (right click the drive in explorer and choose format)? what format is the drive. Have you tried running ccleaner in debug mode and attaching the log file? Was this drive ever a windows system drive?

All we have to go on is that it is a 150GB SATA drive.

So yes, it is a mystery, but please don't accuse the members of this forum of being unhelpful; they are anything but that.

I have exactly the same problem, when told to wipe a drive completely the program will hang on 'Formatting 0%'. It applies for any/all types of drives (Except SSD as I do not have one to test it on).

It can be any number of passes, and it will always not do anything.

The issue can be fixed by clicking cancel, then rerunning the wipe.

Thanks for the suggestion, I canceled and reclicked wipe and it started!
