I have used CCleaner for a long time. I have the professional version. For example, I just ran CCleaner and it says that it removed 5,900mb of junk. Out of curiosity, I ran it again and it said the same thing.
Try in CCleaner options going to Advanced.
Where is says at the top ''Cleaning results level of detail'' select Advanced Report
Close CC and then open it again and clean. What amount does it show now?
I tried that and CCleaner still indicates 5,942mb removed. Same report after running it again.
Does it say where the amount is from ? (Recycle bin etc)
The recycle bin shows empty but when I do the analysis CCleaner indicates that it isn't empty (for example)
So are you saying that the recycle bin shows as empty but CCleaner says it isn't?
If that is so then you may have a corrupt recycle bin. See here

These are three report, the top being the first
If you right-click on the recycle bin (which shows under System on the left hand side panel of ccleaner) and click on 'clean empty recycle bin' does it still show as having something in it if you analyse it afterwards?
The recycle bin shows empty and my analysis doesn’t show recyle bin. It shows 36 mb to be removed. I just ran it and shows System - empty Recycle bin 6, 079,066 kB on the top it shows 5,972 mb removed
I would try the corrupt recycle bin fix I posted above, it's safe to do and many people have used it.
