CCleaner does not work well with ProtonVPN

CCleaner does not work well with ProtonVPN 
The start-up of CCleaner is slow and the cleaning works only partly, see attachment
Problem presented to ProtonVPN We have tried everything but cannot resolve it.
What's going wrong here?

We'd recommend turning off any VPN software while making use of CCleaner, for best results. That should prevent any conflicts.
