CCleaner disturbs other programs

I use CCLEANER with plaisure for years. But now I met two serious problem caused by CCLEANER, even if this porgam is not in use!

1) Video editor AS4YOU did not start anymore. Problem was gone after uninstall of CCLEANER. This took me about 1 month to figure out.

2) HP drivers for a new printer were perevented to be installed. Problem solved after uninstall of CCLEANER. This took me 1 day and the HP people told me that this problem is due to CCLEANER which prevent some temporary directories to be used, even if CCLEANER is not working.

Is this bug known? What to do? Installing and uninstalling CCLEANER can be doen some times, but is not a good solution for longer times

With kind regrads

Do you have CCleaner as a scheduled task to automatically clean?

I only wonder as that's the only way CCleaner could possibly do something in the background automatically to clean out a temp folder which most installers use, other than that CCleaner would have to be ran manually by you.

If you have CCleaner as a scheduled task remove that scheduled task.

Also if you didn't download CCleaner from one of the two official download sites Piriform and FileHippo you may want to replace your CCleaner setup file with a known trusted one.

I agree with Andavari.

There is simply NO WAY CCleaner can possibly prevent it when it isn't running.

Thus, you must have set it to load at startup, clearing HP drivers temp dir before they had a chance to install.

CCleaner is very safe, however, if your using the registry cleaner, CAREFUL!

Look at what your removing! CCleaner has been known in my personal testing with HP printers, to actually remove a few registry keys that were actually needed for HP printers, resulting in them having to be re-installed.

So long as you just use manually run CCleaner, avoid running registry cleaning if your not sure, I believe you will be fine.
