CCleaner offers options for Internet Explorer, but nothing for Firefox 6.0. I *assumed* that it would apply the IE exclusions to all browsers. It did not and wiped-out ALL history, bookmarks, etc. Thanks a bunch.
Sounds like something happened to the SQLite files, did you have "compact databases" selected?

I do not see that option under "Cleaner." Howver, I found my problem and it is my fault. I did not notice the options under "Applications." However, I will venture to say that the defaults are too aggressive. Why would I default to erase my History and Cookies? IMHO, that's the wrong default.
In an ideal world, all of the defaults would be false.
Perhaps it would help to post a screenshot of your current CCleaner settings, along with the include/exclude screen for further analysis, along with version of CCleaner used + Windows version & whether it is 32 or 64 bits.
Oddly enough, I am running Firefox 6, & CCleaner 3.09 works fine for it in both my XP & 7 32 bit systems.

If you choose to use defaults then you have chosen to remove what a majority prefer to scrap.
The only truly safe way is to never clean anything and let Windows grind itself to a halt.
It is better for the majority of casual users that CCleaner starts life with moderate defaults that do no major damage.
Is it really a big deal to lose cookies ?
Why did you not accept the first time use offer to preserve cookies ?
??? um there is a second tab, it says applications on it you will see mozilla/firefox
The cookies to keep section is universal
